DISTRICT HALL DEPARTMENTS ENGINEERING & DEV'T SERVICES ABOUT OUR TEAM
The District of Kent’s structure for Engineering, Planning, Operations and Public Works is a team of persons with inter-related disciplines rather than specific Departments with specific disciplines or specific expertise. This provides a broader base for response to the District’s needs and to the public’s interest.
Director of Engineering provides direction for all civil engineering aspects within the District. The Director manages public and capital works operations as well as directs all facets of infrastructure management, maintenance and procurement within the District. The Director is a vital member of the management team providing a conduit to Development Services, Parks and Recreation, Administration and Finance.
Director of Development Services provides direction and control for all land development, building, planning, geographic and data information (GIS) services as well as support and direction of bylaw and business license enforcement, within the District. The Director is a vital member of the management team providing a conduit to Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Administration and Finance.
Other members of the team also include:
- Mapping/GIS and Planning Technician who is the direct resource for maps, as-built infrastructure records and information concerning land planning ideas, concepts and policies;
- Planning Clerk who is a resource for zoning questions, permit applications and information, updates on present, past and pending land development applications and processes.
- Bylaw Enforcement Officer/License Inspector who provides the field investigation, research and administration of bylaw enforcement issues. This person also assists with Business License inspections throughout the District.
