REPORTING AND REPAIRING STREET LIGHT OUTAGES
Reporting and Repairing Street Light Outages
BC Hydro and the District of Kent are working to keep community street lights in your neighbourhood in good repair, and helping to keep your community safe.
BC Hydro has developed the Street Light Information Management (SLIM) system for municipal and regional customers. This improved process means a shorter period of time between when the street light problem is reported and when it is repaired.
Reporting an Outage
If you notice a street light that is out, flickering, on during the day or vandalized, please call the phone number below.
When reporting a problem, if you provide an approximate location it will help repair crews to locate and fix the problem more quickly. Please note the vicinity, intersection, nearby house or business address of the failed light and include this information when you call.
Staff will schedule the repair, and progress will be tracked so that information can be provided to customers.
BC Hydro is implementing a new program that will streamline the process for reporting and repairing street lights on its poles. SLIM is now being used at many municipalities around the province. The District of Kent implemented SLIM in December 2006.
Do you have a street light concern?
Please contact the Municipal Hall at (604) 796-2235.
